A brief interlude
March 17, 2009 | Posted by Melinda under Uncategorized |
I’m in training for work for the next couple of days, so it will be quiet. I had a great weekend. I saw family, got to go trail riding, and planned riding lessons for the year. I got some VVMarchMadness miles in with Minx. I’ll give a report later this week, but I couldn’t resist […] more
Minx’s story Part 1
March 13, 2009 | Posted by Melinda under Uncategorized |
I’ll eventually get around to Farley and myself, but I thought I would start with Minx (the Standardbred). I don’t know a lot about Minx’s history. According to the partial lip tattoo that she has, her registered name is probably “Linda”. She raced as a 4 and 5 year old, but not extensively. She had […] more

March 13, 2009 | Posted by Melinda under Uncategorized |
I thought this had posted last week, but apparently it didn’t! I found a list sure to make you laugh: http://manker.wordpress.com/2009/03/05/you-might-just-be-an-endurance-rider/ (update: Oct 2014 the blog in the link above appears to have dissapeared or be suspended by WordPress :(. Has anyone visited http://www.endurance.net/ and checked out the very virtual rides? I talked about the VVMarchMadness ride here. If you have recieved your March Endurance News (AERC puplication) check out Flora Hillman’s article. I haven’t gotten as many miles as I would like yet. Specifically I have ridden 11.38 miles this month (doesn’t count arena […] more
Daylight Savings
March 10, 2009 | Posted by Melinda under Uncategorized |
Yesterday was my first daylight savings time riding opportunity! It was very frustrating. According to how yesterday went, I have some short term goals for this spring. My plan was to jog/walk by hand Farley on the canal banks for ~30 minutes. She was a good girl, but circumstances were against us. We jogged down […] more
Crew Bags
March 9, 2009 | Posted by Melinda under Uncategorized |
I did buy a new container for a crewbag yesterday…. I have a crew bag from Sportack that I bought used (http://www.bayequest.com/). I really like it. I tried using garment bags and duffel bags for crew bags and they just don’t work as well as something made for that specific purpose. At 20MT 65 I […] more
