Plan C

Plan A was to go or a drive.
(Above are rub marks from the wraps on the shafts – not painful or tender, but the hair is gone and the skin is flaky and that’s BAD).
Onto plan B.
Which too bad she was a complete and total…..
Plan C it is.
So instead there was a very effective ground lesson in the middle of the orchard using the tools at hand, which she then tried to sneak bites of during the following HOUR walk. Because at this point I can’t actually get on Farley without a mounting block. Which I knew would be the cost of me dismounting and schooling her in the art of better manners.
I was a little irritated. After all if I wanted to walk for an HOUR nine months pregnant there are plenty of other animals (ML, Tess) who are being woefully ignored and could really use the outdoor time.
But I also tried to remember that time spent with a horse is never time wasted.
Project: Bribe Farley is going well.
Finding other areas to explore tolerance versus acceptance
Plan C wasn’t a total waste, but these beauties are going on my cart today to see if Plan A can be thwarted a little less easily.
Goat heads are evil. My bane as a kid. I think they were spread by a major inner tube company.

Any time with the beasts is good, but when they are jerks, you tend to re-evaluate! This time of year is notorious for naughty behavior: I took my kite, I mean horse, for a hike today, oh boy. I’m seriously impressed that you even wanted to ride at 9 months, and that bribery works on horses…and kids too!
The post I was writing in my mind when I mounted up was how wasn’t it wonderful I had a horse I could still ride at nine months preg? And of course…..not. Probably a good thing we didn’t drive since like you said it was a “kite” day- got our first rain that night!!!!!!!!!!
