Farley’s history part 2
April 6, 2009 | Posted by Melinda under Uncategorized |
The information below was taken from the breeders e-mail to me: see part 1 for the beginning. Farley has a lot of experience. There’s no fooling me now! The breeder leased her out for racing, where she traveled the fair circuit for many months. She was trailered, hot walkered, cross tied, and ridden by numerous […] more
A Poem
April 5, 2009 | Posted by Melinda under Uncategorized |
My cousin e-mailed me this today. Karla happened to be spending the weekend with me, and literally and figuratively held my hand last night. I tend to push people away in these kinds of situations and I would have NEVER asked for help. Good thing she didn’t ask! I don’t have any further information right […] more
R.I.P. Minx

Gal’s Black Minx: 1998-April 4, 2009 Tonight Minx died of colic. I have lost my best friend. She was that “once-in-a-lifetime horse. I was going to ride her when I was 40 and she was the ripe old age of 30. I suppose I should be grateful that I’m not horseless. Indeed, I feel slightly […] more

A large number of people (ie – the Faubel’s plus one) stayed in […] more
Terrace Circle trailhead
April 3, 2009 | Posted by Melinda under Uncategorized |
Last weekend I discovered another trail head into BLM Fort Ord land. It’s “Terrance (or Terrace?) circle” and if anyone wants directions, just ask. It’s easy to get to, the best trail head I’ve been too, and it’s free! I arrived ~7:30am. It was quiet and aside from a few hikers and bikers, we were […] more
Minx the driving horse
April 3, 2009 | Posted by Melinda under Uncategorized |
After my work was done last weekend (posts coming soon, I promise), I got my reward……driving Minx! Please ignore the ribs in her pictures 🙁 After her ride on Saturday and the excitement of being put back in the 40 acre pasture with her friends, she was ribby again. She’ll look fine and then I’ll […] more
