of pictures to come. Karen Chaton (see blog on right) was kind enough to e-mail some pictures of me near the end of ride, when I was riding with her and Dave.
The 2 mounted pictures are during the ride, the dismounted is after the ride finish. The finish line was ~1/2 mile away from the base camp.
She looks so grimy and pathetic! Do not be fooled. She was being obnoxious!
Looking at these pics makes me feel trim and fit! I feel like I’m in good shape. If I had to go out tomorrow and run 10 miles I could. If my horse isn’t being obnoxious (my new favorite word) I can easily dismount on the hills…..then why do I feel like someone beat me with a stick after Saturday’s ride!!!!?????
I would like to point out that I am smiling and it even looks like a geniune smile. This was the point where I was battling some immense discomfort. However on a ride, nobody, especially someone putting on the ride or volunteering, wants to hear about your discomforts, so I put on a smile, and laugh, A LOT. I also wore yellow so if the going got tough I would be at least wearing a “happy” color. It’s hard to be grumpy when it’s spring and you’re wearing yellow! I don’t want to be the person that spoils some else’s ride by complaining, moaning, and groaning! Plus I really did have fun. It just hurt, a little. OK a lot. But it was totally worth it.
I’ll upload my pics when I get a chance. I got some great ones of the trail etc. I really should be getting some work done right now.
