Pictures – Day 4
October 28, 2009 | Posted by Melinda under Uncategorized |
Day 4 is when I refuse to photograph my pets yet again and try to find something interesting to photograph.
BTW – this is off topic, but if you want to see a picture of the little bunny rabbit I knitted my mom for her birthday, see her blog here. (no I’m not counting this as one of my pictures…)
I tried to photograph wind yesterday.

Maybe there’s a reason to live in California – look at all that GREEN! The only green we have left is alfalfa hay.
The ONLY reason it’s green is because of that awful rain we had a few weeks ago. In the summer the state is a yummy golden brown. The winter and spring is the ONLY time it’s green.
Of course, having spent some time in Alabama, I could be biased – because they are GREEN, even in the SUMMER!!
On the other hand, compared to Nevada…. 🙂 (I actually love NV so don’t take offense! The desert pastels are VERY pretty)
California is too expensive and too crowded for my blood! And having spent thirty frackin years in the south, I’m perfectly happy to trade the humidity for the pastel-browns. I spent every summer on the verge of heat stroke.
It is still green here and the Fall is the most beautiful time of the year. Unfortunately, all the deer hunters think so too.
I’d love to see some green about now! We’ve got nothing but cold, wet, snow and more to come. It doesn’t look like we’ll get any relief until late tomorrow. Can I tell you I’m really glad I sent my mare down to winter pasture already?
Somebody wants GREEN?
We’ve got plenty of GREEN!
Algae is green.
Lichens are green.
Moss is green, and mold is green, and little baby ferns and trees are green, and ALL THAT STUFF GROWS ON MY TRUCK, which the manufacturer painted RED.
All those molds and mosses also grow on our trees, our buildings, and even on the bushes and grasses in some parts of the Swampland. There are some folks who don’t move quickly enough to escape it all, and their complexions are a little greenish, too.
Be careful what you wish for, O Drylanders, or Santa will bring you a first-class ticket to visit me! (if so, bring your camera…and your rubber boots!)
Check out my answer to this challenge!
