It’s working

Dear Diary,
My secret plan of increasing strength and fitness through a gradual increase in training weight is going nicely. I’m right on schedule to gain 40 pounds in 40 weeks, gradually and insidiously. There were moments I doubted the wisdom of such a plan, but I keep in mind all that fitness and muscle I’m building by lugging around the extra weight and remain committed to the plan. Yesterday’s run wasn’t easy but I felt strong, even throwing in some strides here and there. Didn’t even notice it was a 100 degrees. Only 17 more weeks to go.
Sincerely,
Mel
PS Farley doesn’t appear quite as committed to this plan as me.

Dear Diary,
My rider is gaining weight without any regard to our partnership. Having recently packed on a very bootilicious 50 pounds, I have a sneaking suspicion she is striving to match that. But I protest! Combined weight is the name of the game, and let’s be fair – I gained the weight first, therefore I get to keep it.
I’ve tried to subtly communicate this to the rider, such as turning around and biting her foot during a ride, or giving big sighs when being mounted. I even tried going lame, but she cleverly deduced that was from a rock and not excessive weight.
In this me and MerryLegs are united – the girl needs an intervention! I have a 50 miler in a week and she ain’t no featherweight any more!
Desperate for help,
Farley
Hah! Very good!

Dear Farley,
I will show you my bootyliciousness next weekend, as I’m also a little fat…I mean carrying extra weight so I can burn those reserves at a ride. Yeah, that’s it.
You can also try my technique to get your rider off: head off on your favorite trail then just start lagging, like something is wrong. It works for awhile…
Love,
Major
Omg that works everytime
