ML on the move

Friday my husband kicked me out of the house to go visit my horses. I had been gone 5 days, which was short enough that both horses managed to retain their fly masks, although how ML’s manages to stay on for longer then 5 min with the amount of wear and tear she’s put on it in ONE season escapes me.
I only had about an hour and so I mostly puttered, having clarified with my husband that I would NOT ride. Not even for an itty bitty tiny second. Not even it’s-not-a-ride-I-just-happened-to-get-on-Farley-bareback-in-the-arena. Nope nope nope. I’m gunna be smart about this. Absolutely not riding for 7-10 days and the first ride will be done in the arena with Matt supervising just in case.
MerryLegs got turned out in the arena and through the dust and poor lighting I took some pictures. It probably would have been smarter to take a video and then carefully select appropriate stills. Instead for some unfathomable reason I pointed my phone in her general direction and would take a picture right before she zoomed in front of me, hoping to catch her in the frame.
ML isn’t the only one on the move nowadays.
Saturday I took Tess and went running for the first time postpartum.
“Running” is used loosely, but it’s a start and it’s more running then I’ve been able to do in a while. I walked briskly and periodically ran 20 steps before returning to a brisk walk. Me and Tess did 1.7 miles in this fashion and while the time wasn’t particularly impressive, it’s a start. And I think it’s a good one.
PS – if you are a baby picture sort of person (and yes, I know those exist), follow me in Instagram (see side bar on main blog page) to see more baby pictures I’m “instagramafying” before posting them to my facebook page. If you are a facebook friend, there’s an album labeled “Paige” that is viewable by friends. If you aren’t my facebook friend and want to me, along with the friend request, send me a pm that you are a blog reader so I don’t dismiss you as a random person :).
pretty girl! I’m always able to capture the dorkiest moment, not the loveliest. Glad you were bale to get out, looks like everyone had fun!
