Many many MANY thanks to Aurora of redheadedendurance.com for the pictures and updates. If I got any of the above story details wrong, it’s my fault not hers and I give her permission to correct in the comments!
Throwing Farley into a new environment is a good way to learn more about the horse that I’ve had a relationship with for almost 8 years. So far she’s behaving exactly the way I expected – carefully avoiding conflict for the first 1-2 weeks, neutral with older horses, but eventually does not allow the folly of the youth to persist. A pro at appropriate, clear body language with the right intensity. I’ve learned more about how *I* need to interact and communicate with other horses by watching my mares then any book or video, and watching interactions like this inspire me to to become that much better when working with ML.
