Book Annoucement

I am Orvetta Black.
As promised in my sabbatical post, I’m letting you know that my very first book is published! (even though it has nothing to do with vetmed, running, or horses).
I’m proud of it but I’m also scared of what people I know and care about will think (that includes you Dear Reader!). The point of a pen name is to not have what I’m doing too closely associated with the name I practice medicine under…but whatever.
It’s available on Amazon’s Kindle right now, and will be up on other sites including iBooks and Nook shortly.

It’s $2.99 (ebook version) and I’d love to have your support for my writing – I’ll earn a couple bucks per copy. However, to show my appreciation for everyone’s continued support for this blog and my musings over the year, I want to do a “first-release friends and family sale.” Amazon won’t let me reduce the book to “free” unless I sign up for a program that makes the book exclusive to them, so instead if you leave me a comment here with your email, or shoot me an email at [email protected] I’d love to send you a copy for free. For reals. Please don’t hesitate to ask. Let me know whether a .mobi (kindle) version or ePub (ibooks, nook, overdrive etc) is your preference. I’ll honor any requests today (1/22/18) through Saturday 11:59pm (1/27/18). It would be awesome if you could give me a positive review on either Goodreads or Amazon (or both!) but that’s not a requirement. And if you don’t like it I don’t think I want to know :p.
I had so much fun writing this and I’m already thinking what my next book will be about. Pre-teen mystery? Another Bar Napkin Guide? An endurance or running graphic novel?

That is so exciting that you are also now an author on top of all the other cool things you do! Actually leaning to play an instrument is on my bucket list (I didn’t stick with any of the ones from elementary school).
