Happy Anniversary!

On this day, in 2007 I braved bay area day-before-thanksgiving-traffic with a horse trailer and brought Farley home. The next day we were off to my aunt’s house and some trail riding. I had already planned to bring Minx and spend the holidays trail driving (Minx was recovering from an injury and was only being handwalked, so instead I ground-drove her since it was more interesting for us both), so Farley got to go along and we rode over hill and dale and through cattle herds…and started to realize what a special girl she was.
In 2008 and 2009 Farley and I spent this day travelling to endurance rides, and in 2010 we spent it at home, recovering from a successful 100 mile ride.
Today, in 2011, I end the official block 2 of vet school, don’t get to see my pony, but I’m desperately hoping the weather holds so we can spend Thanksgiving in our annual tradition – in the saddle, seeing some trails.
