Not a Gift Guide 2018
December 30, 2018 | Posted by Melinda under Uncategorized |
Did you think I could really let the new year slip by without my annual “definitely not a gift guide” post? For those of you that indulged in copious amounts of eggnog and don’t remember what the point of these posts are, this is about items that came into my life this year that bring […] more
Boredom Busters

Let’s say you have a horse on stall rest. A very smart, relatively young horse that just came home for three months from the trainer where she was amused every.single.day. What the eff happened??? (Rio 2018 3×3)
November 14, 2018 | Posted by Melinda under Uncategorized |
What happened in 2018 can be boiled down to this very simple thing: If there was any doubt that just getting out the door and running made a difference, I’ve just learned that lesson. Unfortunately, it required abdominal surgery and eight weeks off after getting tuned up at Amber’s for three months. Fortunately we caught the problem REALLY early, something I probably wouldn’t have caught for a while (years?) because unlike Amber, I don’t see and interact with her daily. What was this thing? A granulosa theca cell tumor. […] more
Unfortunately….Farley had a massive hoof abscess
October 9, 2018 | Posted by Melinda under Uncategorized |
Fortunately she’s sound again! Unfortunately it *only* took 4 months. The day I sent MerryLegs to Amber (our Trainer-extraordinaire) the first week of May, Farley was lame. If I’m being quite honest, the last five years have been shit. But I had some how thought this was the point it all turned around because I’m […] more
